California Clean Air Day is a statewide event that encourages Californians to take action to improve air quality.
As part of its commitment to sustainability and a balanced, equitable transportation network, OCTA is offering free rides on all OC Bus fixed routes on Oct. 7. Choosing transit helps reduce the number of cars on the road, easing congestion and reducing emissions. The fleet runs on clean, renewable energy and is moving toward a 100 percent zero-emission future.
Clean Air Day takes place during Rideshare Week, Oct. 5–9, providing another opportunity to explore alternatives to driving alone. Participants can pledge to use public transit, carpooling, vanpooling, biking, walking or another sustainable travel option for a chance to win prizes. Free OC Bus rides on Clean Air Day can count toward the pledge.
OC Bus provides transportation for a wide range of everyday trips, connecting riders to work, school, medical appointments, shopping, parks, trails and local attractions throughout Orange County. On Clean Air Day, a free ride is an opportunity to leave the car behind, try transit and discover where OC Bus travels.
