May is National Bike Month. As part of its efforts to encourage active transportation, OCTA is promoting the benefits of cycling and inspiring more people to give it a try.
OCTA’s comprehensive Bike Month website encourages Orange County residents to pledge to ride and win prizes, attend an OCTA Bike Rally, understand bike safety, and promote OCTA’s Bike Month activities at their workplaces.
Those who bring their bikes onboard Metrolink during Bike to Work Week from May 15 through May 19 can ride the train for free.
Open to all, the OCTA Bike Rally will take place on Thursday, May 18, from 7:30 am to 9:00 am. This always fun group ride starts at the Orange Metrolink Station and finishes at the OCTA Administrative Headquarters in Orange. Participants will receive a free t-shirt, snacks, and a chance to win prize giveaways.
At the Bike Rally, Jax Bicycles will be on site providing free bike safety checks and valuable cycling tips to ensure a smooth and secure ride.
