Time is almost up to throw your hat in the ring to be considered for the Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) or the OC Go Taxpayer Oversight Committee (TOC). For those interested in public transportation and accountability, these committees offer an excellent way to get involved and give back to the community.
Wondering which one would be a good fit for your talents and background? Let’s take a look at each committee.
CAC volunteers add value in many ways, such as identifying opportunities for community input, serving as liaisons between the public and OCTA, and participating in roundtable discussions. Selected by members of the OCTA Board of Directors, CAC participants can serve unlimited two-year terms and play a vital role in OCTA’s efforts to incorporate public feedback into the agency’s transportation decision-making process.
If you have an eye for details, a keen interest in transportation, and want to serve your community, please consider applying to the CAC by May 1, 2019. Learn more and apply here.
TOC members monitor the use of funds generated by OC Go (also known as Measure M), Orange County’s half-cent sales tax for transportation improvements, and ensure that all revenue is spent on voter-approved transportation projects.
OC Go makes Orange County better every day by funding improvements to freeways, streets and roads, and the transit system.
Openings are available for residents of the First, Third, Fourth, and Fifth Supervisorial Districts. Applications are due May 6, 2019. Learn more and apply here.
The application deadline is right around the corner. Don’t miss the opportunities.
