Two of OCTA’s Leading Women Executives Honored

Two of OCTA’s female executives, Beth McCormick and Jennifer Bergener, were recently honored in separate events.

McCormick received an Outstanding Transportation Executive Leadership Award from the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) at the group’s inaugural Women Leaders of Southern California Transportation Awards ceremony on March 22.

McCormick is the General Manager of OCTA’s Transit division, the largest division at OCTA with five operating bases and almost 800 vehicles.

With more than 1,700 members, COMTO’s mission is to ensure a level playing field for minority individuals and businesses in the transportation industry through advocacy and information sharing.

Bergener was one of the people listed in Eno Transportation Weekly’s “Top 10 Women in Transportation” article on March 14. As the Director of Rail and Facilities Engineering for OCTA and Managing Director for the LOSSAN Rail Corridor Agency, she is responsible for OCTA’s $3 billion program of public transit capital and operating projects and also oversees the 351-mile Southern California LOSSAN rail corridor.

The Eno Center for Transportation is a national leader for policy and professional development in the transportation industry.
