Since 2011, OCTA has purchased seven open space properties to preserve the land and permanently ensure that valuable animal and plant species can thrive for generations. Part of the Measure M Environmental Mitigation Program, these purchases offset the impacts of construction on 13 Measure M freeway projects being built throughout Orange County.
The Resource Management Plans plans for five of the properties (Ferber Ranch, O'Neill Oaks, Hafen, Saddle Creek South, and MacPherson) were released last month for public feedback during a 90-day comment period. The individualized plans outline how each property will be managed and monitored to ensure the protection of wildlife and native habitat.
Your feedback is important. You can review the plans and comment online by visiting OCTA.net/RMP.
We also welcome your review and comment in person at a public meeting at Rancho Santa Margarita City Hall, 22112 El Paseo, on Wednesday, Dec. 9 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
