Six OCTA Board Members Chosen by City Selection Committee

In 2021, the OCTA Board of Directors will welcome back three current members and greet an equal number of new members following elections by the City Selections Committee on November 12.

The appointed members are:
  • For the 1st Supervisorial District, a population-weighted seat, Santa Ana Council Member Vicente Sarmiento was selected by a majority vote. This term is for two years, beginning January 2021, and expiring December 2022.

  • For the 2nd Supervisorial District, a one city/one vote seat, Los Alamitos Council Member Dean Grose was selected by a majority vote. This term is for two years, beginning January 2021, and expiring December 2022.

  • For the 3rd Supervisorial District, a population-weighted seat, Orange Mayor Mark A. Murphy was re-selected by a majority vote. This term is for two years, beginning January 2021, and expiring December 2022.

  • For the 4th Supervisorial District, a one city/one vote seat, La Habra Council Member Tim Shaw was re-selected by a majority vote. This term is for two years, beginning January 2021, and expiring December 2022.

  • For the 5th Supervisorial District, a population-weighted seat, Mission Viejo Mayor Brian Goodell was selected by a majority vote. This term is a remaining one-year balance of a two-year term, beginning January 2021, and expiring December 2021.

  • For the 5th Supervisorial District, a one city/one vote seat, Dana Point Council Member Joseph Muller was re-selected by a majority vote. This term is for two years, beginning January 2021, and expiring December 2022.

The Orange County City Selection Committee is comprised of mayors from each of Orange County's 34 cities and is administered by the County of Orange Clerk of the Board of Supervisors. The committee makes appointments to regional boards and commissions.
