To encourage Orange County residents and visitors to take Metrolink, OCTA showcases special events near Metrolink stations and offers opportunities to win free tickets.
Upcoming events include the Festival of Butterflies in San Juan Capistrano on August 5 and the 68th Annual Fiesta Music Festival in San Clemente on August 13.
Last year, OCTA partnered with the nonprofit Goin Native to promote the Festival of Butterflies by developing and marketing a creative campaign, promoting awareness of businesses near the event and offering two Metrolink tickets through a survey-sweepstakes. On the day of the event, ridership increased nearly 80% compared to the previous Saturday and more than 65% compared to the same Saturday the previous year.
OCTA will repeat the highly successful partnership and promotional activities this year for the Festival of Butterflies.
