OCTA recently marked 20 years of ownership and operation of the 91 Express Lanes, which in Orange County consists of 10 miles in each direction between SR-55 in Anaheim and Riverside County.
Those two decades have been marked by continuous innovation and improvement. Considered an international tolling model, the 91 Express Lanes was the first in the world to use transponders and pioneered congestion management.
The most recent annual report, “Enjoy the Journey. Life on Time,” reflects the continued growth of this safe, reliable option for drivers traveling between Orange and Riverside counties.
In fiscal year 2022-23, customers took 19.7 million trips and accounts rose by more than 5.1 percent. Also during that time, OCTA substantially reduced the interest rate and principal on its 91 Express Lanes loan and two leading agencies raised their bond ratings. Read the annual report here.
