Pledge to be Rail Safe for a Chance to Win Metrolink Tickets

September is Rail Safety Month. It’s a good time to learn rail safety tips and pledge to be rail safe for a chance to win two Metrolink tickets.

To help create awareness, promote safety and prevent future rail incidents, OCTA is conducting a month-long education program along the Orange County rail corridor that includes distributing flyers to schools, cities, libraries, community centers and chambers of commerce, safety messaging on buses, at train stations and on social media and a dedicated website featuring the opportunity to pledge.

In addition, OCTA will conduct pop-up events at Orange County rail stations to spread the rail safety message and hand out promotional materials. Watch for rail safety events at Fullerton Station on September 19 from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. and at Irvine Station on September 20 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Remember, trespassing on tracks is illegal and may be deadly. Please stay OFF the tracks and be alert when crossing at designated public crossings. A train may come from any direction and takes up to a half mile to stop.

Don’t become a statistic. Pledge to be rail safe here.
