Orange County Stand Down Event Provides Assistance to Veterans

Last month, OCTA took part in the fifth annual Orange County Stand Down event for homeless, at-risk and employment-seeking veterans and their families. Held at the former Tustin Marine base, the weekend-long event connected these groups with non-profits, community organizations and government agencies.

Our human resources staff was on hand to discuss employment opportunities at OCTA, where veterans make up about 10 percent of the work force.

OCTA also provided bus passes for attendees to travel to the Newport Transportation Center, Santa Ana Civic Center, Fullerton Transportation Center and the Laguna Hills Transportation Center, and also arranged for free shuttles to these locations during select times.
