OCTA Seeks New Members for Teen Council

Now entering its sixth year, the OCTA Teen Council offers high school students an opportunity to learn about transportation-related topics while providing OCTA staff with valuable feedback on a wide range of projects. Members also build leadership, communication and teamwork skills by attending professional workshops hosted by staff.

The Teen Council is an important part of OCTA and members consistently bring fresh ideas to the table. During the past year, for example, Teen Council members provided insights on the development of marketing campaigns including OCTA’ s Youth Summer Pass, Taco Transit Tuesday, OC Flex, and innovative ways to implement transit options throughout Orange County in the future.

Teen Council membership provides meaningful networking opportunities and adds distinction to college applications and resumes. Also, time spent on the council may count towards community service hours.

New members are needed for the 2019-20 term, and the application deadline is July 31, 2019. Applicants must be 13 to 18 years old as of Sept. 1, 2019, reside in Orange County, and be entering grades 9 to 12 at an Orange County public, private or home school.
