OCTA Recruits New Members for Teen Council

The OCTA Teen Council offers high school students an opportunity to learn about land use and transportation issues while working with OCTA staff to develop and implement strategic, collaborative projects. Members build leadership, communication, and teamwork skills while engaging in community service projects and transportation-related discussions. It’s a great way to network, and is a noteworthy addition to college applications and resumes.

The Teen Council contributes important feedback and fresh ideas. During the past year, for example, Teen Council members brought their perspective to the development of OCTA’ s Youth Summer Pass, which offers 30 days of bus ridership to youth ages 6 to 18 for only $20.

New members are needed for the 2017-18 term, and the application deadline is August 20, 2017. Applicants must be 13 to 18 years old as of Sept. 1, 2017, reside in Orange County, and be entering grades 9 to 12 at an Orange County public or private school.
