OCTA Encourages Green Transportation to Sustainability Decathlon

For those who want to visit the future today, the Orange County Sustainability Decathlon offers the experience a of renewable-powered home village. Designed and built by university teams, the model solar-powered homes address climate change and California’s housing needs.

The free event takes place at the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa weekends through October 15.

While admission is free, parking is $12. OCTA is encouraging visitors to save and, powered by renewable energy and part of OCTA’s commitment to a balanced, equitable and sustainable transportation network. 

During Education Day, an exclusive field-trip day for K-12 students in surrounding districts to tour the decathlon and participate in STEAM-related activities, one of OCTA’s zero emission buses was on display to share awareness about the future of green transportation in Orange County.
