OCTA Board Approves $1.3 Billion Balanced Budget

The OCTA Board of Directors approved a balanced budget of more than $1.3 billion for the upcoming fiscal year. Major initiatives include the continuation of improvements through Measure M (also known as OC Go), including the advancement of the I-405 Improvement Project, moving forward with the OC Streetcar, launching the OC Flex on-demand shuttle pilot program, and enhancing bus service through the OC Bus 360° program.

“The approval of this year’s balanced budget demonstrates OCTA’s dedication to continue delivering on the promises made to voters who approved Measure M,” said OCTA Chairwoman Lisa Bartlett, also the Fifth District County Supervisor. “Whether you walk, bike, ride or drive, the budget will enhance the connectivity of transportation programs and continue to keep people moving throughout the county.”

The fiscal year 2018-19 budget encompasses all services, projects and programs administered by OCTA and reflects a significant investment in capital projects.

Funding allocations include:

  • $ 290 million for bus operations
  • $ 286 million for freeway improvements
  • $ 171 million for streets and roads improvements
  • $ 101 million for rail services and capital improvements
