OCTA’s new Faster Future newsletter shares how the I-405 Improvement Project is advancing during the last year of construction by highlighting project milestones and construction progress.
OCTA, in cooperation with Caltrans, is improving 16 miles of I-405 between SR-73 and I-605 as part of the I-405 Improvement Project. The $2.16 billion project adds a new regular lane in each direction, consistent with Measure M, as well as an additional lane in the center of the freeway that will combine with the existing carpool lane to provide dual express lanes from SR-73 to I-605.
More than 18 bridges are being reconstructed for the project, enhancing local mobility. The new bridges include sidewalks in both directions and room for bike lanes.
The latest issue of the newsletter contains information about the Goldenwest Street, Bolsa Avenue, Brookhurst Street, Ward Street and Warner Avenue bridges, including schedules and current and upcoming activities.
