Nearly $20M in Grant Funds Awarded to Reduce Orange County Congestion

The California Transportation Commission (CTC) has awarded OCTA $19.917 million in funding for products and projects that will improve mobility and the environment in Orange County. Grant funds will be used for five zero-emission battery-electric transit buses, three signal synchronization projects, and five active transportation bicycle and pedestrian projects to reduce congestion in central Orange County.
The 13-member CTC is responsible for programming and allocating funds for the construction of highway, passenger rail, transit and active transportation improvements throughout California. The Commission also advises and assists the Secretary of the California State Transportation Agency and the Legislature in formulating and evaluating state policies and plans for California’s transportation programs.
