Mark Your Calendars for Year’s Final Wilderness Hike and Ride

Throughout the year, OCTA hosts free hikes and equestrian rides through unspoiled wilderness areas preserved as open space for the people of Orange County. It’s a great way to experience and enjoy the natural landscape and see Orange County as it was yesterday and as it will be tomorrow.

Please join us for the final events of the year and celebrate the beauty of fall in southern California. Both the hike on Nov. 17 and the equestrian ride on Nov. 18 will be conducted at the Trabuco Rose Preserve, a 396-acre parcel located northwest of the City of Rancho Santa Margarita in Trabuco Canyon. It’s bordered by the Cleveland National Forest to the north and Trabuco Creek to the south, while Hickey Creek drains the western side. The preserve features rolling terrain with elevations ranging from 1,120 to 1,650 feet above mean sea level.

Space is limited and registration is required. Hikers/equestrian riders must be age 12 or over, and equestrian riders must bring their own horse. Learn more and register here.

OCTA’s seven open space properties were purchased and will be preserved in exchange for streamlined freeway improvement projects funded by OC Go, Orange County’s half-cent sales tax for transportation improvements. Formerly known as Measure M, OC go puts tax dollars to work locally.
