Hike OC’s Wild Side

Leave the city behind for a little while and enjoy autumn in the Orange County wilderness with a one-hour hike on Saturday, November 11. Hosted by OCTA, this interpretive excursion will take place on the 400-acre Ferber Ranch Wilderness Preserve, which contains vital wildlife corridors.

OCTA’s acquisition of the property allows this core segment of the Trabuco Canyon area to be permanently protected and ensures the preservation of high quality habitat.

Day hikes and equestrian excursions take place on a limited basis during the year through some of the seven properties acquired by OCTA as part of the Measure M Freeway Environmental Mitigation Program, a comprehensive plan that preserves and restores natural habitats and allows for expedited delivery of freeway projects. The properties are located in Trabuco Canyon, Brea, Silverado Canyon, and Laguna Beach. Together, they total more than 1,300 acres. This is the last hike OCTA will offer in 2017.

Space is limited. Please visit here to learn more and register or contact Marissa Espino at mespino@octa.net or 714.560.5607.
