Go Wild and Hike OCTA’s Wilderness Preserve

There are places left in Orange County with beautiful vistas of unspoiled wilderness, and you can see them up close with our free guided tours of OCTA’s protected properties.

Several times a year, we offer day hikes and equestrian excursions through some of the seven properties acquired by OCTA as part of the Measure M Freeway Environmental Mitigation Program, a comprehensive plan that preserves and restores natural habitats and allows for expedited delivery of freeway projects. The properties are located in Trabuco Canyon, Brea, Silverado Canyon, and Laguna Beach. Together, they total more than 1,300 acres.

Our next hike on October 14 at the O’Neill Oaks Preserve in Trabuco Canyon is moderate to strenuous with registration at 8:30 a.m. and hiking at 9 a.m. Please take time in your busy schedules to fit in this one-hour exploration of Orange County as you’ve never seen it and enjoy fresh air, exercise, and fun!

Space is limited. Please visit here to learn more details about the individual hikes and equestrian rides or contact Marissa Espino at mespino@octa.net or 714.560.5607.
