Expo Introduces OC Students to Careers in Transportation

At OCTA’s first Careers in Transportation Expo on May 10, CEO Darrell Johnson welcomed students from local high schools and colleges and invited them to learn about the many varied careers associated with transportation.

To build and expand the workforce of the future to meet the evolving needs of Orange County, OCTA is dedicated to educating students about transportation careers such as data collection and information processing, accounting, engineering, construction, transportation planning, marketing and digital communications, mechanical and service vehicle repair, and more.

During the half-day event at OCTA headquarters in Orange, students had the opportunity to speak with the professionals who keep Orange County on the move. Representatives from many OCTA departments were on hand to discuss careers, scholarships, and internships along with Caltrans, Metrolink, LA Metro, Women in Transportation Seminars, the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials and other transit-focused organizations.
