Efforts to Improve Biking, Walking in OC Continue

OCTA works with cities, the public and other stakeholders to ensure that active transportation – including biking and walking – is a safe and accessible way to get around Orange County.

The OC Connect Project will create a 4-mile biking and walking trail that will connect the downtown areas of Garden Grove and Santa Ana, the Santa Ana River Trail and the countywide 66-mile OC Loop bikeway. This would improve the transportation network along the corridor and provide a well-connected active transportation route.

In addition, OCTA is developing its E-Bike Safety Plan to help make e-bikes a safe and reliable transportation option in Orange County. Initiatives include hosting e-bike safety rodeos at local schools and releasing safety videos targeted at younger riders. More information about these efforts is available here.
