COVID-19 Safety Messages Shared at OCTA-Led Construction Sites

At OCTA, the safety of customers, employees and workers is our highest priority.

On April 1, workers at OCTA-led construction sites joined with others across the state to share important information about how to keep safe from COVID-19. Local participants included workers at the I-405 Improvement Project, the OC Streetcar construction site in Santa Ana and those at the Laguna Niguel to San Juan Capistrano Passing Siding Project.

The safety stand-down was a voluntary event that allowed jobsite leaders to explain coronavirus safety measures to ensure that employees and their families know the best practices for keeping healthy during the pandemic.

The health and safety message shared for construction crews are similar to those for the general public and include:

  • Stay home when you are sick
  • Wash your hands
  • Practice proper social distancing
  • Keep the jobsite clean
  • Do not share equipment or food

Construction on these and other projects are continuing because highway and rail infrastructure projects have been designated a critical service.
