Celebrating Lunar New Year with Metrolink

Lunar New Year is the most celebrated holiday of the year for the millions of people of Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese descent living in Southern California. One of the most popular regional events during Lunar New Year is the Golden Dragon Parade in downtown LA, now in its 125th year.

Metrolink provides a stress-free, car-free way for family and friends to travel together without the hassle of driving and parking in downtown LA. To encourage train ridership, OCTA is conducting a Lunar New Year celebration at Irvine Station on Saturday, Feb. 17 prior to the departure of the train to the parade. In addition to free refreshments and a traditional lion dance, free train tickets will be provided to the first 100 attendees.

Those who cannot attend the event have a chance to win free tickets here.

Metrolink is providing weekday service only as far south as the Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo Station and weekend service to and from San Juan Capistrano.
