Celebrate Summer with a Wilderness Hike and Ride

Start summer off right with a visit to some of Orange County’s seldom-seen open space natural habitats.

On June 25, OCTA will host another in its series of day hikes and equestrian excursions through some of the seven properties acquired as part of the Measure M Freeway Environmental Mitigation Program, a comprehensive plan that preserves and restores natural habitats and allows for expedited delivery of freeway projects. The properties are located in Trabuco Canyon, Brea, Silverado Canyon, and Laguna Beach. Together, they total more than 1,300 acres.

The summer excursion will include a hike and equestrian ride though the Ferber Ranch Preserve in Trabuco Canyon. Ferber Ranch is nearly 400 acres of rolling terrain bordered on the north by the Cleveland National Forest and on the south by Trabuco Creek. Reservations are required and participants must be 12 years and over.
