CEO Darrell Johnson and OCTA staff traveled to New York City earlier this month for the 2019 TRANSform Conference, the annual flagship event for the public transportation industry conducted by The American Public Transportation Association (APTA), a nonprofit international association of 1,500 public and private sector organizations.
In addition to listening, learning and sharing with fellow industry professionals, Johnson was there to extend an invitation.
“I’m here today to announce that we will be hosting the APTA Annual Meeting and Expo in Orange County next year,” said Johnson. “It’s an exciting time to be a part of the transportation family and it’s an honor to be hosting this prestigious transportation conference at such a pivotal time for our industry. We are thrilled to showcase the many attractions that Orange County has to offer, and I look forward to seeing you all next year!”
To encourage attendance, Johnson showed a video showcasing enticing things to do in Orange County and the many available public transportation options. APTA conferences and expos attract up to 15,000 attendees.
