Each March, the tiny cliff swallows return to beautiful San Juan Capistrano from their winter home in Argentina. To honor this tradition, the city holds an annual celebration. This year, the 57th Annual Swallows’ Day Parade and Mercado will be held this Saturday, March 21.
OCTA will hold an event at the Tustin Metrolink Station beginning at 8:30 a.m. that morning (Mar. 21) for those on their way to the festivities in San Juan Capistrano. The first 50 people will receive free Metrolink tickets, and everyone can enjoy free food, music, and fun. Plus, everyone who brings a canned food donation can play Plinko for a chance to win prizes.
There is Metrolink service to the Swallows Day Parade and Mercado on the Orange County and Inland Empire-Orange County lines, and it only costs $10 to ride with the Weekend Day Pass. The event is a short walk away from the San Juan Capistrano Metrolink station. In addition, many area businesses offer discounts to riders.
