Wednesday Webinars Focus on I-5 South County Improvements

An innovative series of webinars is helping stakeholders and Orange County residents stay up to speed on the I-5 South County Improvements Project.

Today, nearly 360,000 motorists travel I-5 daily between SR-73 and El Toro Road. Transportation planners expect traffic volumes to grow 25 percent by 2045. To address this travel demand, OCTA and Caltrans are working together to implement the I-5 South County Improvements Project. In the cities of Mission Viejo, Lake Forest, Laguna Hills and Laguna Niguel, this $580 million freeway improvement project is funded by OC Go, also known as Measure M, Orange County’s half-cent sales tax for transportation improvements.

The half-hour webinars are hosted by OCTA public outreach team members in a conversational style and are followed by an open Q & A session. Each webinar attracts a wide array of community members with varying interests. All webinars are recorded and available for viewing 24/7.

The next Webinar Wednesday will be conducted on August 26 and will cover the I-5 South County Improvements Project progress from La Paz Road to Alicia Parkway. Find out more about the webinars and sign up to participate here.
