In celebration of National Bike Month, each year OCTA invites its directors, staff and the public to join in a group ride from the Orange Metrolink Station to OCTA headquarters in Orange.
The OCTA Bike Ride on May 15 was one of the agency’s largest and attracted approximately 80 participants, including Chair Tam Nguyen and CEO Darrell Johnson.
In his comments following the rally, Chair Nguyen referenced the importance of active transportation to OCTA and Orange County. “The Bike Rally is just one example of our efforts to promote cycling, a healthy way to get around, helping us all breathe easier by improving individual health and air quality for everyone,” he said. “OCTA, as you know, is NOT just about buses and improving freeways. Active transportation is a priority for OCTA and we are always looking for ways to make biking easier. Metrolink trains and OC Buses have room for transporting bicycles, so people who choose to ride their bike to work have the option of a bike for their first and last mile.”
OCTA is conducting a series of events to promote e-bike awareness and safety.
