OCTA reached out to residents at a local festival recently to help spread the word about the West County Connectors project. The OCTA public outreach team participated in the annual Rossmoor Community Festival at Rush Park and spoke to more than 100 people who stopped by to find out more about the $277 million freeway construction project scheduled for completion by the end of 2014. OCTA Director John Moorlach attended the event and visited the OCTA booth to support the outreach effort.
The West County Connectors project is a joint partnership between OCTA and Caltrans linking high occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes/carpool lanes on the San Diego Freeway (Interstate 405) with those on the Garden Grove Freeway (State Route 22) and San Gabriel River Freeway (Interstate 605) to create a seamless carpool connection among the three freeways. The six-mile project traverses the cities of Garden Grove, Westminster, Seal Beach, Los Alamitos, Long Beach and the community of Rossmoor.
The West County Connectors team will conduct other outreach events throughout the summer as the project nears completion.
