OCTA’s Youth Ride Free program helps young people ages 6 to 18 travel throughout Orange County on OC Bus at no cost, providing access to school, work and other important destinations.
Youth Ride Free is integrated with Wave, OCTA’s fare payment system. To participate, youth riders need a registered Wave card and an approved Youth Ride Free application.
Once approved, the Youth Ride Free benefit is added to the rider’s Wave card, which serves as their pass for free rides on OC Bus.
“OCTA’s Youth Ride Free program has helped thousands of young people throughout Orange County get where they need to go safely and affordably,” said OCTA Chair Jamey M. Federico. “Moving the program to Wave makes it easier to manage the benefit while helping ensure that youth can continue riding OC Bus for free.”
