Reaching Out to 405 Improvement Project Corridor Residents and Businesses

Through postcards, posters and extensive outreach, OCTA is contacting residents and businesses along the 16-mile 405 Improvement Project corridor from State Route 73 to Interstate 605 to keep them informed. The project is expected to provide travel options to ease the commute along one of the country’s most congested freeways. Corridor cities include Costa Mesa, Fountain Valley, Westminster, Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Seal Beach, Long Beach and the community of Rossmoor.

Posters encouraging community members to “Join Our Online Community and Stay Informed” have been already distributed in key areas and more will be placed in city halls, senior centers, libraries, chambers of commerce, coffee shops, and other areas where people gather.

Nearly 30,000 postcards will be sent out, 16,000 to residents and 11,000 to businesses within a half mile of the project corridor. Postcards to residents include a project summary and explain how to receive updates and alerts. Postcards to businesses feature a link to an online survey regarding communication preferences.
