Inside many average commuters is a rideshare hero waiting to get out. During Rideshare Week from Oct. 6 to 10, OCTA is encouraging that transformation by offering great prizes to those who pledge to commute using convenient public transportation alternatives like bus, Metrolink train, carpool or vanpool, or by walking or biking.
Rideshare Week is a win-win. Those who participate help decrease traffic congestion and reduce pollution. At the same time, they’re eligible to win all kinds of great prizes, including an iPad mini.
This year, there are more ways to win than ever. Participants are automatically entered to win when they pledge online. Next, by referring three people, they get a chance to win a $50 gift card. And last but not least, those new to ridesharing may be eligible to receive $2 a day for up to three months. This is made possible through a grant by the Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee (MSRC).
