Each year, Caltrans highlights the best of its work and the work of its partners through the Caltrans Excellence in Transportation Awards Program. The winning projects provide positive and measurable improvements in transportation, resulting in a lasting benefit to the state of California. OCTA received the Stewardship of the Environment Award for the Measure M2 Environmental Mitigation Program, a comprehensive plan that preserves and restores natural habitats and allows for expedited delivery of freeway projects.
In September, The Orange County Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (OCPRSA) presented OCTA with PROTOS awards for The Metrolink Summer Campaign and the 64 Xpress Bus Dedication Event. PROTOS are the highest honor given to Orange County’s top public relations and marketing programs. The 64 Xpress Bus Dedication Event also garnered an Award of Excellence.
In addition, OCTA will receive the WTS Rosa Parks Diversity Leadership Award from the Women’s Transportation Seminar at their annual gala in December. This award recognizes OCTA’s strong commitment to serving diverse communities, developing opportunities for women and minorities and contributing significantly to promoting diversity and cultural awareness.
