Two of the state’s transit organizations, the California Transit Association and the California Association for Coordinated Transportation, will jointly present a conference in Orange County from October 15 to 18. OCTA will co-host the Anaheim-based event along with the Anaheim Transportation Network (ATN).
More than 600 transit professionals from throughout California are expected to attend the conference at the Disneyland Hotel. With a nod to the Disney setting, the conference theme is “Imagineering Transit”.
OCTA will be active throughout the entire conference, providing opening remarks, leading information sessions, and sharing best practices. On the final day, OCTA will give an off-site tour of the Central Communications/Emergency Operations Center and Transit Police Services in Garden Grove.
On display will be the final phases of a major upgrade to OCTA’s existing radio communications systems, including infrastructure and on-board equipment. The tour also includes an overview of the contracted Transit Police Services provided by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department with a discussion of various elements of the program, as well as graffiti abatement and a canine demonstration.
