Commuters will have a chance to learn about the benefits of using alternate modes of transportation during national Rideshare Week, which runs from Oct. 7 through Oct. 11 this year.
Rideshare Week is an annual event that focuses on environmentally friendly transportation options, which include buses, trains, carpools, vanpools, bikes and more.
The theme of OCTA’s 2013 Rideshare Week campaign is 101 Reasons to Rideshare. The goal is to remind commuters of the benefits associated with alternative transportation, including a cost and time savings, networking possibilities and the ability to relax instead of dealing with traffic.
As part of the campaign, those who pledge online to use alternate transportation during Rideshare Week will be entered in a raffle to win sponsored prizes. Participants will also be able to increase their chances of winning prizes by connecting with OCTA on social media and submitting photos.
Orange County’s most popular brands and destinations have donated prizes to incentivize commuters to participate in Rideshare Week. Individuals who pledge will be entered for a chance to win the following:
