OCTA was honored with three first-place awards from the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) at its annual conference in Houston on Oct. 13.
Each year, APTA recognizes the marketing and communications efforts of transit agencies with the AdWheel Awards. The awards are presented in five main media categories: print, electronic, campaigns, social media and special events. OCTA competes against other public transportation systems with more than 20 million passenger trips annually. This group includes the largest transit agencies across the country.
OCTA took first place with these entries in the following categories: Bravo! Route 543 Holiday Ridership Promotion, direct mail; OCTA Adventure Series, digital advertisement; and On the Move, blog. Each reflects OCTA’s ongoing efforts to raise awareness of public transportation within Orange County.
