OCTA CEO Continues to Move Transportation Forward

Topics for just a few of OCTA CEO Darrell E. Johnson’s recent meetings included sustainability, regional planning and OC Streetcar.

Recently, Johnson and OCTA staff provided State Senator Dave Min (D-Irvine) with a briefing on OCTA’s zero-emission bus efforts and a tour of the hydrogen fueling station at the Santa Ana Bus Base.

He also attended the Orange County Business Council’s (OCBC) Executive Committee meeting and 2022 Strategic Planning Retreat in his role as this year’s Chair of OCBC’s OC Moves Steering Committee, which advocates for Orange County’s transportation priorities at the regional, state and federal levels.

Additionally, Johnson had two recent meetings pertaining to OC Streetcar. OCTA’s quarterly meeting with the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) provided an opportunity to update FTA Region IX Regional Administrator Ray Tellis, FTA staff and FTA’s Project Management Oversight Consultant on the status of construction and vehicle manufacturing as well as on the overall project progress.

FTA staff received updates on how OCTA continues to navigate the impacts of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, recent Measure M sales tax projections and OCTA’s planning efforts for the 2022 Long-Range Transportation Plan.
