Over the past few years, OCTA and the County of Orange have collaborated with local agencies to advance the OC Loop, a vision of 66 miles of seamless connections that will allow people to bike, walk and connect to some of California’s most scenic beaches and inland reaches. The OC Loop received a major boost recently when the Orange County Supervisors dedicated over $31 million in funding to the project over the next seven years.
About 70 percent of the OC Loop is already in place and is used by thousands of people. In the past year, funding has been secured by the Cities of Brea, La Habra, and the County of Orange to advance or close seven of the gaps along the way. The OC Loop uses existing off-street trails along the Coyote Creek, San Gabriel River, El Cajon Trail, Santa Ana River and the Coastal/Beach Trail.
