OC Active Sets Countywide Active Transportation Priorities

OC Active, a plan for bicycle and pedestrian improvements for Orange County and its 34 cities, will help ensure that active transportation improvements are coordinated throughout Orange County to help cities and the county secure state and federal funding. OC Active will help make active transportation a more reliable mode of transportation within Orange County.

During that past 18 months, public input was obtained through surveys, community events, and a student art contest, and agencies and community advocates offered feedback via a stakeholder working group.

Residents favored better connections to parks, downtown areas, schools, job and retail centers, and transit as well as improved crosswalks, better nighttime lighting, and separated bikeways, and buffered bike lanes for cyclists.

OCTA will continue working with the community to advance active transportation projects to help provide a safe community with more transportation options.
