More Than $40 Million Available to Improve Traffic Flow in Orange County

OCTA is making more than $40 million in funding available to help cities and the County of Orange improve streets, reduce congestion, and keep traffic moving smoothly.

Approximately $30 million is available through the Regional Capacity Program, which funds projects that expand and improve major streets and intersections. Another $12 million is available through the Regional Traffic Signal Synchronization Program, which helps time traffic lights along busy streets that often cross multiple city boundaries.

Both programs are funded by Measure M, Orange County’s half-cent sales tax for transportation improvements. Cities and the county are encouraged to submit project proposals for these competitive programs by November 20.
