Making a Difference in the Community through Diversity Outreach

OCTA’s Diversity Outreach Team continues to connect with community members throughout Orange County to share information about public transportation.

In July, OCTA participated in the Relationship Building Network Business Event in Santa Ana, the Asian Business Association Orange County's Summer Mixer in Irvine, Santa Ana's Concert in the Park, and the Resource Fair at Anaheim’s Ponderosa Park, where the team welcomed OCTA Directors Vicente Sarmiento and Doug Chaffee.

In August, the team joined forces with Moving Forward Psychological Institute and seven other resource organizations for an "Unforgettable Event," a workshop aimed at caregivers and professionals assisting seniors with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and mental wellness.

“We appreciate OCTA’s participation as a critical community partner,” said Paul Hoang, organizer of the event and a member of OCTA’s Diverse Community Leaders group. “We’ve been able to help seniors with the freedom of mobility thanks to the transit services, so they are able to access healthcare, shopping and other important destinations.”

Diversity Outreach is participating in the Newport-Mesa Unified School District's Back to School Resource Fair in Costa Mesa on Saturday, Aug. 5.
