Now in its second year, OCTA’s Teen Council offers high school students an opportunity to learn about land use and transportation issues. Members build leadership, communication, and teamwork skills while engaging in community service projects and transportation-related discussions. Participation offers a way to give back to the local community while enhancing college applications and resumes.
New members are needed for the 2015-16 term and participation in meetings and activities is required throughout the year. Applicants will be asked to commit an average of six hours per month to the service-oriented Teen Council. The application deadline is July 31, 2015. Applicants must be age 13 to 18 as of Sept. 1, 2015, reside in Orange County, and be entering grades 9 to 12 at an Orange County public or private school. This is a great opportunity to put great ideas to good use!
