OCTA is updating its headquarters on Main Street in Orange, which it has occupied since 1993.
Improvements include a new, larger boardroom that will allow more people to attend and participate in meetings. The current space can hold up to 80 people. With room for about 300, the new structure will accommodate nearly four times as many visitors. Meetings may be held there in late summer or fall.
Though the OCTA Board had considered relocating, last year it negotiated a cost-effective 15-year lease renewal, a $5.2 million allowance for tenant improvements and more than a year’s worth of free rent. In all, the new terms resulted in a projected savings of $39.4 million over the next 30 years.
