OCTA executives recently participated in the Mobility 21 Southern California Transportation Summit, California’s largest one-day transportation conference and expo. The Sept. 20 event attracted more than 1,400 attendees to the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim.
In his welcoming remarks, OCTA Chair Tam T. Nguyen emphasized the important role that transportation plays in connecting people to jobs, education, and healthcare and provided a brief overview of current OCTA projects and programs. Nguyen also participated in a chairs’ roundtable on innovation and policy.
During a panel discussion on mega-projects in southern California, OCTA CEO Darrell E. Johnson presented an overview of the challenges and successes of the I-405 Improvement Project, one of the nation’s largest freeway design/build projects and the largest undertaking in OCTA’s history.
