During a spring afternoon at the Irvine Station, more than 150 baseball fans celebrated the Angels Express with food, fun and a chance to talk with former Angels player Adam Kennedy. After enjoying the festivities, they jumped aboard Angels Express trains and rode to the Big A in Anaheim to watch the Angels play the Twins.
OCTA Chair Tam Nguyen, CEO Darrell Johnson and Director Farrah Khan, also Mayor of Irvine, were on hand to greet fans and welcome back the Angels Express service, which was suspended during the pandemic.
“The good news is that we’re back,” said Johnson. “Along with my excitement about baseball, I’m thrilled that the Angels Express fan train has returned and even expanded.”
This entire season, Angels Express will serve every regularly scheduled Friday, Saturday and Sunday home game from Orange, LA and Riverside counties. The convenient transportation option allows fans to save time, gas and money by avoiding traffic jams and skipping the car trip and it’s only $10 roundtrip – and free for children 17 and under with a paying adult.
