OCTA’s Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) is now online. Through June 20, 2014, the public can review this draft version and leave comments.

Entitled “Outlook 2035:  Because Mobility Matters,” the LRTP outlines a vision of multi-modal transportation improvements throughout Orange County.

OCTA updates the LRTP about every four years. The general goals are to assess the performance of the transportation system over 20-plus years and to identify the projects that best address the needs of the system based on expected population, housing and employment growth, while also taking forecast financial assumptions into account.

The current LRTP, which looks out to the year 2035, highlights mobility along with sustainability. With improvements funded by the voter-approved Measure M program at its core, the LRTP also focuses on delivering programs and services to meet the demands of a growing population and employment base. It also focuses on sustainability, which is related to the quality of life in a community -- whether the economic, social and environmental systems that make up the community are providing a healthy, productive, meaningful life for all community residents.
