Streetsblog, a daily news source connecting people to information about sustainable transportation and livable communities, recently interviewed Paul Martin, OCTA’s active transportation coordinator. Martin provided information about OC Active, Orange County's Bike and Pedestrian Plan, a project that aims to recognize the areas and opportunities of improvement for active transportation throughout the county.
OC Active will bring together new and existing information to improve active transportation while providing OCTA and local jurisdictions with a plan to support funding requests. Since the project began in March 2017, OCTA has shared the OC Active concept at more than 40 public events and has collected more than 1,000 surveys that allowed the public to weigh in on walking and cycling in Orange County. OC Active is scheduled for completion this summer.
