Hundreds are expected to attend the OCTA Business Expo on Thursday, Oct. 23 to learn how to do business with OCTA, which along with its public partners, buys goods and services worth billions each year. The event, which has been sold out, will be held at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim. A waitlist is available.
This is a significant opportunity for all types of companies to learn directly from contract and procurement officers about needed goods and services and the processes required to supply them. Some of the purchases are expected, such as bus parts. Others, like cleaning supplies, furniture, stationery, and accounting, finance, insurance, public relations services, are less obvious. Many local businesses will be surprised to discover how well they fit in with OCTA’s needs. Click here for a full list of goods and services (PDF).
During the luncheon program, two speakers will offer their perspectives on the challenges and opportunities of doing business. Kish Rajan, Director, Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz), will deliver important observations about California jobs, economic development and more during his luncheon keynote address. Special guest speaker Wing Lam, co-founder of Wahoo’s Fish Tacos, will offer inspiration drawn from his success as a local entrepreneur.
