Thousands of commuters used alternate modes of transportation during Rideshare Week,
Oct. 7 to Oct. 11.
Rideshare Week is an annual promotion designed to encourage commuters to take the bus or train, vanpool, carpool, bike or walk instead of driving alone. The campaign is tied to OCTA's ongoing efforts to help residents find efficient, environmentally friendly and cost effective ways to travel in and beyond Orange County.
Individuals who shared the ride one or more times between Oct. 7 and Oct. 11 still have time to participate in the promotion by filling out an online pledge form, which will remain open until Oct. 25. Participants will be entered in a raffle for dozens of sponsored prizes from Orange County's most popular attractions, restaurants and retailers.
Besides pledging to share the ride, participants were also able to connect with OCTA on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Through these platforms, participants shared photos of their commutes and interacted with the rideshare team.
