Applicants Sought for Taxpayer Oversight Committee

OCTA is seeking qualified volunteers to serve on the OC Go Taxpayer Oversight Committee (TOC). TOC members help keep an eye on tax dollars by monitoring OCTA’s use of OC Go funds and ensuring that all revenue collected from OC Go is spent on voter-approved transportation projects. OC Go, the county’s half-cent sales tax for transportation improvements, is also known as Measure M.

Applications are due by May 2, 2022. with final selection taking place at the OCTA Board of Directors meeting on June 27, 2022. 

Orange County residents in the First, Third, Fourth, and Fifth Supervisorial Districts are eligible to apply.

  • The First District consists of the cities of Cypress, Fountain Valley, Huntington Beach, La Palma, Los Alamitos, Seal Beach, Westminster, a portion of Garden Grove and the unincorporated communities of Midway City and Rossmoor.
  • The Third District consists of the cities of Lake Forest, Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, Villa Park, Yorba Linda, portions of Anaheim, Irvine, Orange, Tustin, the unincorporated communities of Modjeska, Silverado, Trabuco Canyon, Williams Canyon, and a portion of the unincorporated community of North Tustin.
  • The Fourth District consists of the cities of Brea, Buena Park, Fullerton, La Habra, Placentia, Stanton, and portions of Anaheim.
  • The Fifth District consists of the cities of Aliso Viejo, Costa Mesa, Dana Point, Laguna Beach, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Woods, Newport Beach, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, portions of Irvine and the unincorporated communities of Coto de Caza, Ladera Ranch, Las Flores and Rancho Mission Viejo.

Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and be willing to serve for a three-year term. Potential committee members should also demonstrate a history of participating in community activities and knowledge of transportation in their application. Elected or appointed city, district, county, state or federal officials are not eligible to serve.
